Pine-Ridge
Tyler Morris
10/27/17 about 9:30 am at Pine Ridge Park. It was sunny outside but slightly chilly. The area was mostly wooded area.
1). Sword Fern
- Sharp tooth with incurved spike tip leaves
- Relatively large fern with stout, woody, stout rhizomes
This fern was growing in the mud so we thought that it was a resilient plant.
2). Vine Maple
- Multi stemmed tree
- About 15-20 meters
- Undeniable maple leaves
I learned about Vine maples in high school so I have always been able to notice and identify them since.
3). Hygrophorus or Gymnopilus
- Clear remainder of veil
- Has fragile gills
Korena got really excited when we saw this fungi.
